Many women experience severe depression after childbirth and misbirth. A depressive state can develop due to menopause and barrenness. The group of risk also includes women, experiencing a violation or domestic violence in their early age.

There are also some other factor, causing female depression. They include:

  • Absence of social support;
  • Stress and anxiety;
  • Loss of one of a parent in the age of 10 and under;
  • The usage progesterone containing contraceptives;
  • Outrageous treatment and sexual abuse in the childhood;
  • Various disorders of mood of the parents and relatives;
  • Personal disorder of mood;
  • Infertility treatment, involving gonadotropin stimulants.

Depression is easy to recognize, as it has a great number of symptoms, including irritation, decrease of sexual interest, feeling of worthlessness or hopelessness, sense of guilt, frequent thoughts about suicide, weariness, hypersomnia, insomnia, interest reduction to some pleasant reduction, and other psychomotor causes.
